PolyCert Europe Celebrates 4th Anniversary with Over 480 Certified Members
PRESS RELEASE
On the 4th anniversary of its launch, PolyCert Europe is proud to announce that its umbrella technical platform now includes over 480 member organizations from 25 EU and non-EU countries.
Since its establishment in 2020, PolyCert Europe has had the mission of harmonizing existing certification schemes and enhancing transparency in claims regarding recycled content in converted products. To achieve this, PolyCert Europe has brought together an extensive network of accredited and reputable certification schemes across Europe, including: QA-CER (BE), AENOR (ES), Plastica Seconda Vita (IT), DIN Geprüft, LNE “Matières Plastiques Recyclées” (FR), CERTILOOP (TR), TZU-PQA (CZ) and CERTIF (PT).
This framework has enabled the creation of a robust technical platform that enables knowledge-sharing on best practices and minimum requirements for audit schemes between the member organizations. By doing so, PolyCert Europe significantly contributes to the harmonization and facilitation of verifying recycled content volumes declared on data collection platforms.
Furthermore, this verification and certification of recycled content also serve as essential financial tools for companies, enabling compliance with national plastic tax regulations, which only leads to significant cost savings but also supports the development of a more robust and resilient infrastructure.
PolyCert Europe’s achievements reflect the collective efforts of its members and reinforce its commitment on supporting the industry to meet the European Commission’s targets for recycled polymer reuse by 2025 and 2030. As PolyCert Europe continues to grow, it remains focused in its mission of facilitating transparency, and sustainability in the polymer industry.
